Although breastfeeding is a timeless way for mothers and their children to bond, we also know that it is a learning experience. MetroWest Medical Center was one of the first institutions in the MetroWest region to develop a program dedicated to helping new mothers succeed with breastfeeding.

Our registered nurses are skilled in supporting new mothers who choose to breastfeed. From prenatal education, through your hospital stay and after discharge, our certified lactation consultants and counselors will be available to help you. In addition, we offer post-partum breastfeeding consultations if you are experiencing difficulty after you have been discharged from the hospital. There is also a free bimonthly support group for breast feeding mothers, “Baby Steps,” at our MetroWest Medical Wellness Center.

For your convenience, the Beautiful Beginnings Birth Center offers electric breast pumps for rental or purchase, as well as other necessary accessories.
